FILE - The undated file photo shows German Nazi party official and head of the SS, Heinrich Himmler. at unknown location in Germany.

BERLIN (AP) — Germany's foreign intelligence agency has declassified documents regarding its employment of the daughter of top Nazi Heinrich Himmler as a secretary in the early 1960s, the country's top-selling newspaper reported Thursday.

The BND agency declassified the documents on Gudrun Burwitz-Himmler at the Bild newspaper's request. The paper previously confirmed the intelligence agency employed Burwitz-Himmler from 1961 to 1963.

She worked at the BND at a time when it was led by Reinhard Gehlen, a controversial ex-WWII German general who also worked for U.S. intelligence after the war and employed many former military officers and Nazis as spies.

. . .

Burwitz-Himmler's father led the paramilitary SS, which oversaw the Nazis' system of concentration camps and death camps. She was an unrepentant supporter of the Nazis until her death last year at age 88.

Even if we don't like having the focus shared.

Stalin loved kids and was reportedly really good with them. Stalin killed more than Hitler.

We like binary thinking, for bad people to be pure evil and for good people to be pure good (and we like that to line up with group boundaries). Russians, thinking of icons, used to say that the devil isn't as black as they paint him. Good people can be evil, evil people can be good. (Morality's like intelligence: Smart people are neither all-wise nor all-knowing, and even the stupidest person typically knows something a wise/smart man doesn't.)

In my limited experience, the truest evil has resulted from frustration in the attempt to accomplish some particular good only to be met with pushback or indifference--and the evil is committed in the attempt to overcome that pushback or indifference so that a particular good could reign. Sometimes the good is a narrow thing ("I want to help those with this trait" ), sometimes it's a broad thing ("I want to help all people"--this usually being a self-deluded version of "I want to help this group of people" ). But the specific good takes precedence over anything like a utilitarian "greater good". And, no, there is no need for a given "particular good" to be seen as good by all sides; like beauty, good is often in the eye of the beholder (or the wanna be holder of some real good).

just altering documents, adding the phrase 'not an ardent Nazi'. Allowed some nazis to stick around in Europe, even, and torpedoed OMGUS De-Cartelization efforts. Which benefitted all the US based multinational corps that backed Hitler before and during the war.

Murder in Hitler's Bunker
Who Really Poisoned the Goebbels Children?
To this day, the murder by poisoning of the six children of Nazi propaganda chief Joseph Goebbels remains a mystery. Newly discovered records show that a doctor confessed in the 1950s to having been an accomplice, but that the judges in the case let him go unpunished.

Joseph Goebbels Villa at Bogensee

[Disclaimer: Please note that this article is purely for historical reasons only, it is a summary of the research we did for the trip as well as the photos taken from this excursion.]

As many of you will have seen in our recent Berlin Vlogs one on the places Ross and I had been particularly keen to visit was Joseph Goebbels former country-retreat at Bogensee which is still standing to this day. Hiring a car for our final day of filming, we headed out of Germany’s capital in some very snowy conditions, in search of the Propaganda Minister’s former home.

6. Just the right description. She was able to live happily after, with the awareness of what he did.

It would be harder to believe if we didn't have so many people just like her who have magically appeared from under their rocks.

Now we've seen them up close, it's STILL hard to believe they exist without brains, and souls.
