Tinker, Tailor, Mobster, Trump What happens when a Confidential Informant becomes President?

IN THE EARLY 1980s it was decided—by whom, and for what ultimate purpose, we can’t say for sure—that Donald John Trump would build a casino complex in Atlantic City, New Jersey—probably the most mobbed-up municipality in the state. Dealing with the mafia might have dissuaded some developers from pursuing a Boardwalk Empire, but not Trump. He was uniquely suited to forge ahead.

wondering how these kind of things could play out.

Be great to be a fly on the wall, to hear some of their quiet insights and speculations.

even Kelly-Anne. One wonders, who, why, what for? There's always a connection once researchers start digging.

maybe Cohen. And Manafort, who fits pretty well in that bunch of advisors too.

It possibly explains a lot, perhaps even hints as to why the veil over this system is never pulled fully back. It's how they keep an eye on things.

dozens of Russian names, Goldstone, NRA, come to mind.

Then there are the Unger, Olear, types; - who have a ton to tell.

Game is not over. trump is racing against the November clock - trump does not want a November election, [remarkable how he got rid of 'con primaries].

10. How, exactly, did the Mob get Trump elected?

That was highly intimated in this piece. Was it just the money they laundered thru Trump? I want to know the truth on why Trump NEVER criticizes Putin?

13. Trump's connections with the U.S. mafia, mostly money laundering

apparently, in the 1980s-1990s (until FBI crime busters closed down his source of income), are very real and have been explored by others.

After that Trump moved to doing business with Russia and the new organized crime cartels developing in the ex- Sov Union states, again apparently mostly money laundering. Until he was elected president.

The only book I've read that delves into this is Fusion GPS's (Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch) account of their investigations and what they turned up. (When Republican attacks in congress broke their confidentiality, it legally allowed them to go public with what they had previously been unable to.)

Besides books, there are other articles on this in publications like NYT, WaPo, The Economist, Foreign Policy, and on and on. Lots of "may have" hedging because it hasn't been established in court, etc., but this is one of those "everyone knows" things.
