A commander in chief should know the battlefield during coronavirus pandemic

Donald Trump spent this past weekend tweeting about his TV ratings as "roughly the viewership of 'The Bachelor," denouncing the "Lamestream media," decrying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi as one out to hurt the country, and calling Washington Gov. Jay Inslee "nasty" during a verbal tussle with a CNN reporter.

A Monday conference call with governors suggests that, in the war against the COVID-19 pandemic, the self-styled "commander in chief" could better spend his time learning the battlefield and listening to field commanders.

Gov. Steve Bullock of Montana talked about the need for "contract testing" in his largely rural state. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo had discussed the need for testing kits at a morning briefing. "We have a desperate need of the testing kits," Inslee had said Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union."

Trump's reply to Bullock left governors taken aback: "I haven't heard about testing in weeks. We've tested more now than any other nation in the world. We've got these great tests and we'e coming out with a faster one this week. I haven't heard about testing being a problem."

At least, the 45th President was persuaded not to send Americans back into "packed churches" at Easter, as he had wanted to do. Experts used flattery and charts forecasting levels of coronavirus casualties to keep Trump from reopening America to business.

This country has more stupid people then I could think of living here. It is amazing that only 50% of the people are smart enough to know 45 is a con man. Even when we are told how often he and other republicans the cult member republicans fail to understand they support a con man. This coming election will be very hard to convince republican cult members to THINK before they vote. I do not think those type of people have the cognizant ability to separate lies when their elected people speak.........
