Martin Luther King and Robert E. Lee are in the back row behind Abraham Lincoln.

(17,317 posts)I pointed out that although Reagan, Lincoln, and Frederick Douglass look fairly authentic, the rest of them rate from "meh" to unrecognizable.
And WTF is Calvin Coolidge doing in that mix of distinguished people (except Rump of course)? Nixon was unavailable?

(57,013 posts)realizing the boat with his soul aboard set sail many decades before. Very lifelike, and a fine memorial to Dr Martin Luther King Jr's firm belief that anyone could come to Jesus.

(14,852 posts)... thinks this way.
I mentioned that Trump received something like 85% of the white evangelical vote, and how some of them think he was chosen by God, and she said that's what she believes!
I don't even feel up to sharing my outrage. Then I apologized for getting so upset and said that I don't want to be like other families torn apart by a distant politician who doesn't know we even exist... especially a sociopath like Trump who wouldn't care even if he did. (I just couldn't help myself even when trying to make peace.)
I never received a satisfactory explanation for her thinking, if it can be called that, but my bet is that she's heard preachers on TV spouting the same idiocy.
She did say that she supported Ben Carson in 2016 because of his "obvious" Christian beliefs, and Carson had said Trump was chosen by God. (I haven't even fact-checked that comment yet.)
Edit: She brought up the typical "abortion is murder" stuff. I replied that nothing has been changed by Republicans at the national level, as usual, because they want to keep it a wedge issue forever.
