Martha McSally Claims If Biden and Dems Win, They’ll Vote DC, Puerto Rico in as States: GOP Would ‘Never Get the Senate Back Again’
By Reed Richardson
Aug 12th, 2020, 12:06 am

Senator Martha McSally (R-AZ) warned that, should Joe Biden win the presidential race and the Democrats retake both houses of Congress, they will make D.C. and Puerto Rico new U.S. states, which she baselessly claimed would doom Republicans to being in the minority in the Senate for a generation.

During a wide-ranging interview with NBC News’ Vaughn Hillyard, McSally, who was appointed to the Senate to fill an open seat after losing to Sen. Kyrsten Sinema in 2018, attacked the presumptive Democratic nominee and his party’s alleged “radical Left agenda.” She then claimed that, should the Democrats win back full control of Washington, they would vote to make the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico states, which, she claimed, would make it almost impossible for Republicans to ever regain the majority in the Senate

All those people of color in DC and Puerto Rico will get fair representation!!

McSally is a jerk.

25. I picture her still wearing a hat with teabags hanging from it

and being in favor of "taxation without representation".

They have poor grammar and spelling. They're lousy at math (especially deficits). They don't know history and don't believe in science.

Yet they think they qualify to be in government at all levels.

Hell, just sit back and watch yer NASCAR and that thar rasslin'. Let us make America great for all its citizens.

5. So if more Americans can vote, Republicans won't win?

That is what's called "Democracy."

6. Sounds good to me! Welcome to your Brave New World! nt

When you are in the absolute minority, OK, we might listen to your half-baked bullshit. But then you can vote for sane, progressive ideas. But not this cycle.

McSucks wants to end coverage for pre-existing conditions. She wants to ELIMINATE Social Security and Medicare.

Here's a REAL senator for our state, not a Traitor boot licker:

10. Puerto Rico's admission depends on their November referendum

A lot has changed since 2012, but a significant majority of Puerto Ricans voted no to statehood in that year's referendum. No federal taxes is not an insignificant advantage to many. Would congress essentially annex PR to full statehood if the referendum votes no?

24. I think the abysmal way Trump handled the hurricane

has changed a lot of minds.

Full-blown states, with two senators and a couple of voting members of Congress, are more difficult to ignore than "territories."

11. Puerto Rico has a larger population than 18 individual states.

Washington DC has a larger population than Wyoming and Vermont. Give em two senators each, I say. Some house reps too.

McSally can fuck right off.

12. Well, yeah -- that's the Constitution. Article IV, Section 3 . . .

"New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union."

Nothing in the document restricts the number of States to a select number, nor does it specify what political affiliation those States must adhere to.

Explain North & South Dakota, McSally, and then we'll move on to why new States can't be created.

17. Well, West Virginia played a role in helping hold the Union together in 1861 . . .

so there's a lot of good it's done for us all. I understand your point, however, and certainly support doing a lot of "somethings" to rectify an increasingly unrepresentative situation nationwide.

18. That's good,

What trump will do is destroy all health care, Social Security, and then allow companies to raid all our pension funds , destroying people's pensions. And send us into a deeper depression then we're already heading for. Biden and Harris have my back, where trump will stab me in the back while pointing his finger claiming others did it.

They have more to give to their country than paper towels.
