For many years some of us have been warning that the GOP is an anti-democracy fascist cult. From voter suppression, to extreme gerrymandering, to stolen Supreme Court seats, to ignoring congressional subpoenas, to a GOP Supreme Court appointing GWB president, to lying us into war and approving torture… These aren’t policy differences, these are a steady march toward fascism.

Most Americans like living in this American republic. Democracy is the whole reason for this nation’s existence. People of my grandfather’s generation knew what to do about fascists. Now a member of Congress is urging us to join them. I wonder what made you hate America so much.

This went over my head but it’s from Mein Kampf. Fitting. And Mike Lee‘s not alone. With actions being louder than words, the position of the Republican Party in 2020 is squarely centered around fascism. Mike Lee was foolish enough to say it out loud, but all of them are all in.

I think what @SenMikeLee is saying is that democracy doesn’t form an assemblage of wise men, but rather collects together a crowd of subservient nonentities who can easily be led in certain directions, and lets the real wire-pullers remain safely in the background.

Don’t think for a moment that this election isn’t the most important election since the Civil War.

There are only two candidates on the ballot; DEMOCRACY AND FASCISM!

VOTE and make sure all democracy loving people you know vote.

Well now, these fascists are saying the quiet part out loud and leaving no doubt.

This can’t be ignored by those of us who believe we have the right to choose our leaders and hold them accountable.

7. He's a fascist idiot. A republic is representative democracy, which the founders chose...

to avoid their fear of mob rule. And it's just ignorant and silly of him to equate democracy as a step from socialism then communism.

Democracy is the middle ground between socialism on the left and fascism on the right. We certainly know which way he leans.
