'tRump Picked The Wrong Guy To Pick A Fight With'

Dr. Anthony Fauci is the nations top infectious disease expert with a career spanning six administrations. He has seen and gotten along with all. His relationship with the current administration can best be described, at best, as complicated. Over the course of the last year, tRump has attempted to do to Fauci what he has done to everyone else in his maladministration: dominate him in an attempt to corrupt and ultimately break him.
Fauci has firmly but politely resisted the political pressure. At times he bent, but he never broke. Due to his incorruptibility, tRump eventually sidelined Fauci from the corona virus task force. Last Friday (I know it feels like an eternity ago), Dr. Fauci reemerged into the limelight, taking on the White House for its reckless approach to the corona virus: The governments top infectious disease expert, said Friday that there was a superspreader event at the White House late last month, a stark assessment of the string of positive coronavirus cases among the president and top aides.
Well, I think the data speak for themselves. We had a superspreader event in the White House, and it was in a situation where people were crowded together and were not wearing masks, Fauci told CBS News Radio.

In an unintentional ode to Brave New World, the following day, the Trump campaign began running TV ads using out of context video clips of Dr. Fauci to create the false impression that Dr. Fauci supports tRumps reelection campaign. Dr. Fauci was clearly upset about the ad and issued a statement to CNN on Sunday, stating: "the comments attributed to me without my permission in the GOP campaign ad were taken out of context from a broad statement I made months ago about the efforts of federal public health officials." The Trump campaigns entirely predictable response was to double down. It refused to either admit error or take the ad down. According to Trump Campaign Communications Director Tim Murtaugh: "These are Dr. Fauci's own words
directly from Dr. Fauci's mouth." To hell with context. (I added that).
On Monday, Fauci went on national television and drew a line in the sand...

(9,036 posts)could be saved. Sorry, his feelings might be hurt by Trump using him, but if his priority is to protect Americans, then he needs to side with the candidate who actually promotes mask wearing and doesn't flout social distancing guidelines - the single most important things that Americans must do to bring the spread under control.

If he said something like 'Trump Sucks!' everything he says from there on will be challenged on the grounds of political bias.
