Two armed people said to be hired by the Trump campaign as security guards were spotted at a St. Pete early voting site Wednesday, Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections said, citing information from the sheriff’s office.

Supervisor of Elections Julie Marcus said an election employee was the first to be told about the individuals, who were said to be seen in “security-type uniforms,” and “it appeared” they were openly carrying a sidearm.

“From what I understand from the sheriff himself, that this is – these security individuals – are licensed security individuals who were hired through a licensed security license company by the Trump campaign to, I guess, protect the campaigners,” Marcus explained.

Marcus said the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office was notified of what happened, and deputies were sent to the early voting site located on First Avenue North.

10 Tampa Bay has reached out to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, which confirmed it was aware of the situation but did not immediately reveal any details.

"...We will address it in the morning," a spokesperson said.

Marcus stressed that voters should feel safe and that “physical security’ and “cybersecurity” procedures are in place.

Call the cops and demand an escort in to vote and they can keep me safe.

I say, use the cops, make them spend their time and money because I do not trust anything Trump and my right to vote.
