The president presumably summoned House Speaker Lee Chatfield, R-Levering, and Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, R-Clarklake, to the White House to discuss his ongoing and futile effort to reverse his election loss in Michigan.

It's an opportunity for the two Republicans to deliver a message Trump needs to hear:

"You lost. Accept reality. Concede."

Trump is doing Michigan Republicans no favor by encouraging them to indulge the fantasy that the election here was in some way rigged and he could yet prevail.

8. This is an old article. Every county has certified the election, so the Board of Canvassers

has no choice but to certify. Brewer says, "What underpins a scenario of a deadlock is that the board’s duties are ministerial — meaning that their responsibility to certify election results must be performed according to established legal procedure and without exercising individual discretion."

10. MSNBC talked to someone

who said that a Repub legislator in MI told them that that's pretty much what they're going to tell Pissolini, that while they had concerns about irregularities, their hands are tied by MI law, which is quite clear that the winner of the popular vote is the winner of the electoral votes.

towns, townships, and counties to allege irregularities in Michigan. This is what happens when ignorance, arrogance, and incompetence collide.
