Opinion: Trump's major problem in Georgia election probe
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has now opened a grand jury investigation of former President Donald Trump's effort to overturn the 2020 election result in Georgia. This is a major step forward; the grand jury holds the power, by way of subpoenas, to compel witnesses to testify and to turn over other evidence, whether they want to or not.
Yet it seems the most powerful evidence is already in the public record: multiple recordings of Trump, in his own words, trying desperately to convince Georgia officials to throw the election in his favor.
The district attorney's Exhibit A ought to be Trump's now-infamous December 2020 phone call to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger. In that call, Trump advised Raffensperger that "there's nothing wrong with saying that, you know, um, that you've recalculated" and implored him to "find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have."
Trump's own words in this call convey his underlying intent: He asked Raffensperger not merely to count all the votes and let them fall where they will, but rather to "find" precisely enough votes to enable Trump to win Georgia by a single vote.

(12,539 posts)Georgia may have turned blue, but not that blue. Trump is extremely popular in that state, and as he said, "I could shoot someone in Atlanta and not lose a single grand jury vote."

On a different note, you write so well, I wish you would look at the story below, and write something about it. Aurora PD, here in the Denver Metro area is constantly in the news about repeated cases of police brutality by their officers....
Then this just came to the surface, a year after the fact, showing Aurora Police coaching a police dog to repeatedly bite a suspect as the person laid motionless on the ground. There is a really good video taken by someone showing close up, how the dog didn't want to bite the person, and the dog handler kept forcing the dog's face into the person and screaming at the dog different commands to bit and keep on biting this motionless suspect. The dog handler keeps the dog biting this person and getting the dog to take big bites, hold on, and shake it's head to grossly tear large pieces of the victims skin. The victim keeps crying out for them to stop, and the cops just double down. I cannot understand how this isn't going viral and on the news across the nation. It was almost a year ago, and the video is just surfacing at this point......This may show how out of control the Police are everywhere......
