Require the vaccine. It's time to stop coddling the reckless.
Pay people to get vaccinated, no matter whether that is unfair to those who didn’t receive checks for jabs. Require them to do so as a condition of going to work or enrolling in school. Do whatever it takes — and, recent weeks have shown, it is going to take steps like these — to get the pandemic under control.
Those of us who have behaved responsibly — wearing masks and, since the vaccines became available, getting our shots — cannot be held hostage by those who can’t be bothered to do the same, or who are too deluded by misinformation to understand what is so clearly in their own interest. The more inconvenient we make life for the unvaccinated, the better our own lives will be. More important, the fewer who will needlessly die. We cannot ignore the emerging evidence that the delta variant is transmissible even by those who have been fully vaccinated. “The war has changed,” as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concluded. President Biden recognized this new reality with his actions Thursday. He announced that federal employees must be vaccinated or mask up and submit continuing proof that they are not infected; he urged private employers to do the same; and he encouraged the use of federal funds to prod — okay, bribe — the unvaccinated to step up. https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/07/30/require-vaccine-its-time-stop-coddling-reckless/

2. I would think they would demand their customers be vaccinated.
You got to wear a seat belt in a car, a helmet on a motorcycle, a life vest on a boat, and many other safety items to protect yourself from injury or death. A vaccination should be handled the same way.
If, at this late date, you aren't vaccinated and get the covid virus, you should be responsible for the cost of all your medical treatment. Only medical exceptions allowed. I don't want to hear this "experimental vaccine" crap. 344 million doses of the vaccine have been administered in the United States, and many millions outside the U.S. The data is clear. Serious side effects are extremely rare. According to the article below, there are only 3 cases of death that are linked to the vaccine; all J&J. https://covid-101.org/science/how-many-people-have-died-from-the-vaccine-in-the-u-s/ And, of course, hundreds of thousands of dead as a direct result of the virus. Not to mention long term problems from the virus. https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/health/conditions-and-diseases/coronavirus/covid-long-haulers-long-term-effects-of-covid19 But then, it's their free will decision to be vaccinated, or not. Covid doesn't care. |
