I believe that the corruption of many evangelical leaders is an important piece of the "four horsemen" of this fascist movement. The others are:

⦁ Oligarchs
⦁ Politicians, and
⦁ Our perpetual curses: racism and anti-semitism.

Each empowers and corrupts the others.
This pattern repeats through history because it appeals to greed, hate and deception.

My opinion.

especially your last line of how it is created--the lack of respect for decency, honesty, respect for life on the planet. Selfishness will eventually destroy the planet. No greed is not good as Reagan ignorantly procalmed

for any single group to determine how to define it. As the piece by Pidcock points out, those from outside the inner circle of evangelicalism are going to have a more accurate and realistic view of the lack of continuity and alignment between historic, traditional Christianity and any kind of Christian nationalism, or "Anglo-Israelism" as some of the thought is labelled.

Christianity has been defined, by the words of Jesus recorded by the authors of the New Testament, and by the apostles who wrote about their experience in the first century. There are too many biases and presuppositions, as the author of the piece suggests, embedded within Christianity's branches, to objectively define the origins of Christian nationalism honestly because of all of that bias. So it takes the non-religious, looking from a historical perspective and without a Christian ideological lens, to show this for what it really is.
