My parents wouldn't buy anything like that for them, but one of my uncles got them the little army men for Christmas.

My brothers had never seen anything like the army men, so they turned them into little green baseball players.

I believe the picture in the op is Disneys life-size replication of those toys.
The pads on their feet are the toys base that lets them stand up without falling.

Pretty clever Disney act, IMO!

pair of boots green to wear at morning formation. Of course, our uniforms were green too. The Sargent saw me and physically block me from leaving the barracks and threaten me with disobeying an order. My friend got in his formation and got an Article 15 violation, a minor infraction. There is no humor in the army.
I was not a very good soldier. In fact when my two years were up and I was sent to the Captain for my re-enlistment speech, all he said was, “Private, the army does not want individuals like you. You are not thinking of re-enlisting, are you?” Of course, “No Sir,” was the only answer to that. I wanted to say, “ I tried to tell you guys that two years ago.” On my discharge paper, he put a little asterisk over the Good Conduct metal part.
