Trying to figure out how Lauren Boebert got elected, and re-elected.
https://signalpress.blogspot.com/2023/09/im-trying-to-figure-out-how-lauren.html
A close examination of Lauren Boebert's background may give some insight into a politician who doesn't seem to have the ability to settle on an identity. From the perspective of a Democrat, it is difficult to avoid the temptation to just write her off as a kook, the product of a deep red congressional district in a blue state where almost 70% of the population lives within a 90 minute drive of the state capital building in Denver. So she can easily be fodder for the mocking of her as an extremist. I'm guilty of doing that kind of writing her off myself. There's more to it than that. I sometimes wonder if she, as a recruit to run by the GOP, is a much different person than the image she created and that the real person is coming out. I think the most sincere aspect of her politics is her being cemented to unrestricted gun ownership rights and there rest of the image, where she is awkward, ignorant of facts and inconsistent in her position, is the part she has trouble living up to. For someone who claims to be an Evangelical and has been since 2009, she exhibits almost no knowledge of doctrine or theology, or really much that would indicate she reads and studies the Bible at all. She speaks in mostly cliches in this regard. And that's the backdrop for the latest photographs of Boebert, from a live theater production in Denver, making out with her date as if no one else is in the room, casually vaping and not really being very careful about what's being seen. Clearly, on the Republican side of the aisle, the moral and ethical standards of behavior for members of Congress have deteriorated down to nothing since Trump set the example for the party and they went ahead and nominated him anyway. It's quite an assumption that such a public display won't matter to her supporters. The closeness of her re-election bid is a clear indication that if this offended even a small fraction of those who voted for her, it will make the difference in the next election. But it doesn't appear that this is going over well at all, and if the apology now was kind of weak, I think the regrets on November 6th will be very powerful.

1. The answer sort of depends on how granular one wants to get...
For example, on a very macro level one could explain it as simply as: there are lots of assholes who vote.

3. So who might be funding and managing her?
Does she have a minder in the background?
She is a chaos agent, so who might be promoting her? |

4. Agreed, she only won re-election by 500-some votes.
This near-porno exhibition of her and her date, not her husband, will surely make damaging negative ads during the campaign, and will probably cancel out that small 500 vote margin she won by.

12. I was thinking she would print them and send them out as Christmas cards.
I have to wonder how many votes she will garner to make up for the ones she's losing. There is still a frighteningly large number of awful people out there who respond positively to her particular kind of dreck.

13. Heehee. Love that headline of your OP.
She might, as she's done the Christmas card-armed-to-the-teeth bit already.

5. Lots of MAGATs hate government to the point of
wanting to see everything burn down. So they elect the worst candidates possible and then stand back and enjoy the show.

10. Explore Talent
Boebert, Candice Owens (Fox News contributor),Tomi Lahren (Fox News contributor), Mellissa Carone (Giuliano’s star witness), Anna Khait and Tarah Price (hired by private intelligence operatives to seduce and blackmail H R McMaster), Tarah Price was an under cover operative for Project Veritas, got their start as actors and models at the same talent agency Explore Talent. Explore Talent is owned by a man who also ran phone sex and porno sites.

14. Oh, you're metioning some names/scandals I remember...
and some i never heard of. DId the H R Mcmaster thing really happen?
Candice Owens — what a sellout. Mellissa Carone — what an embarrassment. Rudy sure scraped the bottom of the barrel there (he didn't have to go far though as that's where he lives now). Tarah Price from the scum-in-action "Project Veritas", never heard of her until now. What a cast of sleaze balls. Btw, ever heard of what happen that Tara Reead, the one who was apparentlyh sicced on Biden to claim phony sexual assault charges? |

16. Tarah Price
Tarah Price disappeared from public view after her role in an aborted 2018 sting against National Security Adviser HR McMaster was exposed. Now she works for Steven Crowder, a leading media figure in MAGA world. (Intelligence Online, May 12, 2023)
