More Americans suing employers for overtime pay

We need jobs-or income to survive. We need to replace our aging infrastructure...And the need for new technologies... But the change that was needed is not occurring because it is said Obama's Cabinet members are relying on hold overs from Bush..."

"Since the height of the recession in 2008, more workers across the US have been suing employers under federal and state wage-and-hour laws.

During the Great Recession, businesses laid off almost 9 million employees. Now, many of the unemployed are striking back in court, according to a USA Today report.

The number of lawsuits filed last year was up 32% vs. 2008, an increase that some experts partly attribute to a post-downturn austerity that pervaded the American workplace and artificially inflated US productivity, the report said.

Workers' main grievance is that they had to put in more than 40 hours a week without overtime pay through various practices."

It's unbelievable what employees sue for. I know some people have a legitimate beef, but
I have heard some stories that are pretty under-handed in their demands and approach.
