Did Reagan raise taxes? Hey! Not a 'fair' question CBS 60 Minutes!

A couple weeks ago on 60 Minutes, Diane Stahl was trying to interview the smiling Eric Cantor. When Sawyer asked Cantor to reconcile his statement that "you don't compromise your values" with the fact that Reagan had compromised and raised taxes more than once, Cantor's public relations-spin-meister (minister of propaganda), running interference, piped up from out of camera range - "I won't let that stand!" His minister of propaganda was there so the smiling Mr. Cantor couldn't be recorded on tape denying reality, or worse yet, admitting that Reagan did indeed compromise and raise taxes.

Since Cantor's propaganda minister wouldn't let Stahl persist in asking Cantor about Reagan's compromise on taxes - CBS inserted a comment at that point with Stahl pointing out that:

"There seemed to be some difficulty accepting the fact that even though Ronald Reagan cut taxes, he also pushed through several tax increases, including one in 1982 during a recession,". Where-upon they rolled a tape of Reagan making his public statement about the tax increase: "Make no mistake about it, this whole package is a compromise."

..... how dare CBS ask a question of Mr. Cantor that wasn't previously cleared by his propaganda minister!!

thinkProgress has a good comment on the interview here: http://thinkprogress.org/economy/2012/01/03/396439/cantor-taxes-spokesman-reagan/

House and Senate, it's the Democrat's fault.

If a Republican President signs it, no matter who controlled the House or Senate ... it's the fault of a Dem in the House or Senate.
