Why Does Sociopathic Scum Rise To The Top?

This is one of the great articles that causes one to think and raise questions. It is rather long, and
many of the comments that follow it are equally thought-provoking.

I came upon this article while surfing the Internet. Topics covered are: Corporations, government,
society and morality. Even though the topic was written in May, 2013, it has as much relevance
today as it did then.

About Pres. Obama: If he has gone as far to the right as the author alleges, the question that
arises in my mind is, then why are the Right-Wing Congress and news media trying so hard to
destroy him? Could it all be an act? A ploy on the part of the Right-Wing leadership to make
Obama appear less Right-Wing, and, hence, more acceptable to the Left?

Remember it was New Gingrich who introduced NLP techniques into the Repub talking points in the 90s, but it was entirely negative associations.

The establishment Repubs are starting to break away from this conditioning in a small way, but the tea partiers are too far gone, it seems that they can't snap out of it, and are stuck in a circle of negativity.

BTW I fully expect Glenn Beck to steal this opinion, flip it round and project it onto liberals. That's an aspect of Rovian spin: it's omnivorous in that it can take any idea and use it against its adversaries.

5. I also think it is one of the characteristics of sociopaths. They are driven to get

more money and have more power over people, so that they can order them
around and manipulate them as they wish. And their deficient sense of
morality allows them to use all means - fair and foul - to reach their goal. This
includes (for example) causing other people's death, which is something that
the non-sociopath would not knowingly do. But it wouldn't bother the sociopath
at all. This allows a larger number of them to succeed at gaining power. They
just don't mind doing any kind of dirty tricks at all -- as long as it's helpful to
achieving their goals.

Between 2% and 4% of the general population are sociopaths. But a far higher
percentage of them are in high positions of power as compared to the
percentage of those who are non-sociopaths.

To me it's quite clear that Z fits the description of a sociopath, and guess what, I came across one of his enablers. Someone who's so into his enabling that he even contradicts himself to make a point:

From the article:

The sociopaths rise to the top of power by clawing, bullying, intimidating, lying, charming, betraying their ways.

They rise to the top by being enabled by the bullied, the craven, the stupid, the naive, the opportunistic, the distracted, the brainwashed, and/or by crony bullies.

Colin Todhunter in “Psychopathy, Politics and The New World Order” writes:

Psychopathy is a personality disorder identified by characteristics such as a lack of empathy and remorse, criminality, anti-social behaviour, egocentricity, superficial charm, manipulativeness, irresponsibility, impulsivity and a parasitic lifestyle.

With that definition in mind, look around: the criminal, parasitic activities by bankers that have plunged millions into poverty; the destruction, war and death brought to countries in order that corporations profit by stealing resources; the dropping of atom bombs on innocent civilians in 1945 or the use of depleted uranium which again impacts innocent civilians; and the many other acts, from the use of death squads to false flag terror, that have brought untold misery to countless others just because powerholders wanted to hold onto power or to gain more power, or the wealthy wanted to hold onto their wealth or gain even more.

Based on these terrible deeds, it becomes easy to argue that the people ultimately responsible for them do not adhere to the same values as ordinary people. It may be even easier to conclude that it’s not the cream that rises to the top, but, in many cases, the scum.

MrScorpio:

Guns! Just the thing for a short tempered guy with blood already on his hands… At least until his next incident.

tigger replied to you

"for a short tempered guy"
Why do you make stuff up. According to the FBI and statements by Georges ex girl friend and ex wife George wasn't a violent person.

MrScorpio:

Don't you find it unusual that he required an investigation by the FBI? He's most definitely a violent person, with an arrest for assault, various domestic incidents and a murder trial… Would you want this guy with all of his issues for a neighbor? I wouldn't.

tigger replied to you

"Don't you find it unusual that he required an investigation by the FBI?"
You seem to forget that he had one charge against him from the fraudulent affidavit entered by Angela Corey.
"He's most definitely a violent person,"
Not according to his history, and statements by his friends and neighbors. Which part of the FBIs findings do you not understand? Which part of Judge Lesters findings do you not understand?
"with an arrest for assault,"
A false arrest. He shoved some guy who was attacking his friend. The charges were dropped.
"various domestic incidents"
One joint restraining order with an ex girlfriend who stated George is not a violent person.
"Would you want this guy with all of his issues for a neighbor?"
Before he was railroaded into a murder trial to appease you mouth breathing tayvonites most definitely. George was considered a very civic minded person who did a lot for his community. Now that you have broken him with your witch hunt I think he needs time to heal and maybe some help.
" I wouldn't."
From the sounds of it you wouldn't make a good neighbor. You are spiteful, malicious and judgmental even when you don't know the facts.

MrScorpio:

If you're trying to hurt my feelings, then you're going to have to do a much better job of that. I've been insulted by experts and your attempts are pretty pathetic, I have to say.
Be that as it may, it's quite clear what kind of person Zimmerman is, even if you're too obtuse to understand it. He's a short tempered, manipulative sociopath, with a violent streak a mile wide. His own ex-wife has called him a "ticking time bomb," and it was only a matter of time before he had innocent blood on his hands after this paranoid fool started buying and carrying guns. His frequent brushes with police demonstrates his utter disregard for the law or society at large.
He's out of work, so he has to make money by scamming Ebay bidders into buying his so-called "original" art, which is nothing more than something that he got off the internet and fussed around with it using Photoshop. But what's most troubling about the guy is that he's fooled lots of people, who are invested in a host of right wing causes; gun worship, Fox News watching and pretty much anyone who's afraid and hateful against Black people, like yourself, into making him their poster boy.
Here you are, with nothing to show for it, quoting Right Wing propaganda to defend this dangerous fool. But hey, you can have the guy, you can keep him as your pet-cause pet if you want to. This is America, you're free to do that. Me, I'm glad that I'm pretty far away from him.

tigger replied to you

"If you're trying to hurt my feelings,"
I really don't care about your feelings. Just the facts, the evidence and the law. You are the one that wants to go on emotions and feelings.
"it's quite clear what kind of person Zimmerman is,"
Yes from all the actual evidence and statements by friends, neighbors and coworkers George was a well liked guy and very civic minded. Since he has been railroaded by the easily manipulated mouth breathing trayvonites I don't think he is quite the same person anymore.
"He's a short tempered, manipulative sociopath, with a violent streak a mile wide."
Not according to all the evidence.
"His own ex-wife has called him a "ticking time bomb,""
Before the divorce she claimed George wasn't a violent person, as did Georges ex girlfriend that he had a joint restraining order with. Judge Lester examined Georges past and found it to be mild and run of the mill.
"His frequent brushes with police"
What are you talking about. George has NO convictions and no pending charges against him.
"so he has to make money by scamming Ebay bidders into buying his so-called "original" art,"
How is that scamming anybody? He offers to sell his art, if they want it the can buy it. Where is the scam?
"he's fooled lots of people, who are invested in a host of right wing causes; gun worship, Fox News watching and pretty much anyone who's afraid and hateful against Black people"
LOL Sounds like you have some issues there. Have you tried getting professional help?
"making him their poster boy."
What makes you think that a registered democrat and staunch supporter of Obama would be my poster boy?
"quoting Right Wing propaganda to defend this dangerous fool."
I only quote facts, evidence and the law. I guess you consider those propaganda because they don't support that shaky house of cards you are so desperately clinging too.
"I'm glad that I'm pretty far away from him."
He is free to travel where ever he wants so he could soon be you neighbor. Well that is assuming you aren't in some institution some where. Which we are still not sure about.

I figure that no matter what Z will do next, there will always people like this guy backing him up. Of course, Z understands that he can always depend on that support and he manipulates it.

I borrowed a friend's DVDs (it is a series, if I recall) about 7 years
ago, so it should be available somewhere. It is much more analytical
and factual than "Capitalism: a Love Story." It will make you shake
your head in disgust and lament the coming doom of our new socio-
economic construct that began in the 80's.

I just did a quick search for a link (below) It was made in 2003
by a Canadian film maker (figures!)

They are not in the driver's seat and Obama is.

It doesn't matter how close they are to the GOP on policy issues. In fact, it probably makes it worse since Bill and Obama steal their thunder.
