In all the attention haters have been given we need to remember that there are WAY more of us then there are of them.

What's not to like, except the possibility that some little kid out there will then dump Cheerios all over a parent?

to the black male sexual conquest of the white woman?

I'd bet anything that there would have been less of a hateful reaction if the mother had been black and the father white -- if you can call a 94 percent positive rating a hateful reaction.

years ago I knew a guy who was bothered by such a mixed race couple in his neighborhood - knowing he was not OVERTLY racist I asked him to try to articulate exactly what bothered him - he said he knew it was wrong to feel that way but admitted it was the "black man taking our women" thing.........I agree with you it would not be nearly as controversial if it was the mother who was black

been - as a white guy - involved in a relationship with a black woman (many, many years ago), I can tell you from experience that white guy/black woman doesn't raise so many hackles as black guy/white woman.

I'm not saying we didn't get some 'looks' from time to time, but it was minimal at best.

don't care as much about the colors

I have an amusing story - years ago I dated a divorced Hispanic guy with two kids - those kids loved getting ice cream but my beau did not like ice cream OR the noisy atmosphere at the ice cream place, so the kids and I often went with my gay black neighbor (man). Since I am white as this back ground, the four of us made quite the colorful family and attracted VERY confused looks.

The bigoted hate group is shrinking. Kids today are open minded when it comes to racial issues and other equality issues. Just wait and see.
