Lyrics:
Sometimes late when things are real
And people share the gift of gab between themselves
Some are quick to take the bait
And catch the perfect prize that waits among the shelves
But Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn't, didn't already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad.
So please believe in me
When I say I'm spinning round, round, round, round
Smoke glass stain bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
Soapsuds green like bubbles
Oh, Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn't, didn't already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad
So please believe in me
When I say I'm spinning round, round, round, round
Smoke glass stain bright color
Image going down, down, down, down
Soapsuds green like bubbles
No, Oz never did give nothing to the Tin Man
That he didn't, didn't already have
And Cause never was the reason for the evening
Or the tropic of Sir Galahad

(618 posts)The SCOTUS WILL have to deal with this shit. Finally...
The fact of NSA spying is rather old news to me. But because of the secrecy aspect of it, all cases brought against it have been thrown out after initial wins against it, by the federal appeals courts, due to lack of "standing". That shit is officially over, thanks to Snowden and the Verizon Document...

Some here on DU keep pushing the false talking point that "everyone knew this was going on since 2006", when actually few knew that ALL Americans' communication data was being collected and stored by the U.S. Government. In fact, back then, government officials told us that only communications originating outside the U.S. (with a couple caveats) were being collected.
Those DUers really have no idea that what Snowden provided was the holy grail...and the ACLU has quickly put it to good use. Very smart of Snowden to grab and leak the order authorizing the collection of all of Verizon's Business Customers' data, because businesses have the deep pockets to sue.

(17,301 posts)Old news, nothing to see, you knew we were spying on you anyway. Didn't you suspect it, just a little? See you already knew.
No, we did not know it. If we did, we would have had standing in court when the administration was legally challenged for their spying on Americans.
And a suspicion is not a known fact.
But keep pushing those NSA talking points. I'm sure the corporations making billions off of your surveillance are really glad someone supports their continued spying activities.
The money spent on contractors to spy on you could have been used to feed the poor but hey, we have to get our priorities straight.
