Eyewitnesses describe the terror of DWI checkpoint shooting

http://www.wect.com/story/22605650/eyewitnesses-describe-the-terror-of-dui-checkpoint-shooting#at_pco=cfd-1.0

"It was way beyond reckless," said Cleerdin. "I couldn't believe it. These are professional people, professional officers, and they're training, they're highly trained and they're not supposed to do stuff like that."

Officials with the sheriff's office are keeping tight lipped about the incident. No one will tell us who shot the two suspects, or what even led up to the shooting."

Just a hunch.

ETA, yup, sure enough.

Guilty of driving while black?

There's no mention of any evidence of a crime here.

Poor dudes, at least they are still alive.

Fuck.

I can not imagine how scared and horrified I would have been !!!

They seem to have been following military battlefield tactics instead of domestic policing.

As described by a witness:

"Every cop turned around and started unloading like super trigger happy as if their training was coming into full effect and they were being able to utilize it," said Cleerdin. "Everybody was just blasting this car to pieces. It was absolutely terrifying."

They were stunned with what was happening, as officers reportedly shot dozens of rounds - in the direction on-coming traffic.

"Cops are shooting from the front of the car, back into the rest of the on-coming traffic to the check point, into the rest of the innocent civilians down the road," said Cleerdin.

None of the seven deputies were injured in the incident. All were temporarily placed on paid administrative leave, or paid vacations so that they can engage in other recreational activities. All are expected to fully recover and return to work.

From that story we don't even know when or where this incident took place.

get administrative leave if the person they shoot diess. The problem with commenting on a story like this is that we actually do not have any facts. We have a few quotes from a guy that saw some cops shooting at a car. We don't know why they were doing it. I'll wait to get some details before commenting further because with that story, there are not enough details to make any speculations.
