"We value you. You work hard, You care for your families and communities. You are an important part of America today and tin the future.

This deal sucks. The idea of decades before getting citizenship is outrageous. This border wall business is nonsense. Our best deal is to pass on this one. Get out there with us and win the House in 2014 and we'll pass a law that really works for you."

This is how you play hardball. That is the only thing Republicans understand. You have to make them pay consequences for their actions.

Costs for a wall that would run the entire length of the border might be as low as $851 million for a standard 10-foot prison chain link fence topped by razor wire. For another $362 million, the fence could be electrified. A larger 12-foot tall, two-foot-thick concrete wall painted on both sides would run about $2 billion.
