20. Sharia Law--OMG--what a huge threat to NC

The Muslims are Coming...for your houses, your farms, your first born. Buncha hooey.

And as the article points out, ironic to fight fundy religion from a fundy religious perspective.

"Setting aside for a moment that there are probably more Linux users in North Carolina than people who are actively seeking to implement Sharia Law, tacking fundamentalist religious extremism onto a bill purporting to ban religious fundamentalism does come with a twinge of sad irony.

In a legislative session defined by crazy, superfluous and downright mean-spirited policy, North Carolina Republicans are now fast-tracking a bill that would demonize a religious group with an ethnic-sounding legal framework on the one hand, while wholeheartedly adopting its teachings on the other.

So the problem Republicans have with Sharia law isn’t the law itself, it’s the funny hats."

US vs THEM. Gotta have somebody to hate.

(To use the words of the song they play on Stephanie Miller)

At the televised Governor debate:
Q: Will you sign any new abortion laws as Governor?
McCrory: No.

Rachel Maddow keeps playing that snippet on her show. I wish I could find a Youtube video link of it to post.

there's that "argument" ... of course, people who say that don't add the caveat ... that a majority of those that "don't like the ACA bill" are angry because it gave too much away to drug companies and doesn't go far enough to help people ...

So, if "the majority of people" don't like this bill, or the Governor ...

Maybe the democrats need to start passing everything they want like the GOP does. They'd cry like little babies...Oh, they already do.

The pubs are steadily destroying their "credibility," with their underhanded anti democracy full court press.

We can surely forget that most of these people who are against the gov action will be riled up by some new distration issue and re-elect with little to no problem

"All good from you is gone/You are darkness with no dawn."

But you know it is the truth. These people have no soul, no heart. They are the force of darkness. There are a lot of fugly auras around. Ruthless, truthless. They will lie, cheat and steal.

This is what we are up against.

we can't use their tactics. But it is very hard to win against people who do not play by the rules.
People who have no ethics, no concern for others, no compassion. Who freely lie, cheat, steal.
People who feel that the more others hurt, the more effective and successful they themselves are. How do you fight against those who want it all, and I do mean All.

I am not too worried about becoming like them. I just don't know quite how you defeat people with no ethics, who want to strip you of power and subjugate you. We are not so willing to look at this in this country, and don't want to deal with it. Easier to deny. But at least it's getting so bad that people are waking up to the injustices and assaults. Hard to ignore now.

and demonstrations carrying guns. We show a peaceful, open attitude. They show anger and exclusion. We don't care if you are black or brown, if you are Muslim or Jew. They measure your worth by your religion and color of your skin. We want our form of government to work, they don't.
