Are they willing?

Yes, without a doubt...as long as it doesn't hurt their corporato-fascist 1% power base.

Barack Obama is a keenly intelligent man. I'm sure he already knows the answer to his question.

I had a pastor who used to be a lawyer. No winning an argument with him (though he was a very nice person)!

What kills me is how the RW is always saying that Obama is wiping his arse with the Constitution, doesn't know/care about the Constitution, etc...when he's a lawyer whose expertise is in Constitutional Law!!!

what would suggest to you that they aren't willing to hurt people just score political points?

Everything they do is to punish Americans for voting for Obama.

They publicly stated their only goal was to make sure Obama didn't get a second term.

It's not a question if they are really willing to hurt people just score political points,

it's a question of just how much pain they are willing to inflict on the citizens of the United States for not supporting their insanity.

The ads say this is the last best chance to repeal Obamacare. And of course it throws out lies that Obamacare will cost jobs and raise healthcare costs. The anti-ACA propaganda is getting pretty thick and desperate. The GOP knows once the ACA is fully implemented, people will realize the GOP has been lying to them about the ACA.

Come on, as the leader of the Democratic Party, you are failing to fight this obstruction. I'm sick of the conservatives having the most VOCAL VOICES. There should be a campaign telling people how this mammoth legistlation works, what it means and how to navigate it. You sir have failed to do that. Time to step it up with commercials countering Cruz's and every thing the republicans are lying about. Why let them dictate the discussion?

Uh.... this is it.

Dems all over say things like this and other useful gems.... but the media does not cover it so you never hear about it. Just look at the Sunday shows' line up ...dozens of conservatives...some proven to be abject failures and completely unreliable, and 3 or 4 liberals and 0-1 progressives. How is anyone supposed to hear what Dems have to say?

Of course the media HAS to cover what Obama says... and here it is...

Glad you're here! I voted for Obama twice, too, and am SO glad to have the Affordable Care Act! (I refuse to call it "Obamacare," because I don't believe in repeating and giving further life and validation to the bad guys' slogans.)

It means that both the men in my life, who had been turned down for preexisting conditions, now have coverage.

It means that the kid who drums in my son's band, who is a child cancer survivor, remains covered under his parents' insurance policies til he's 26 - and has a chance to get on his feet with his own career.

It means I actually got a $90 refund check from my insurance carrier (with a lot of fanfare, of course, a glowing letter breaking its collective arms patting itself on the back for being so wonderful) - ONLY BECAUSE THE ACA FORCED THEM TO DO IT. NO WAY did they do that out of the "goodness of their hearts"!!!! They did it because one of the provisions in the ACA mandates that at least 80% of the premiums you pay MUST apply directly to YOUR COVERAGE.

http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/2013/07/18/refund-your-health-insurance-company-thank-affordable-care-act

And those are just the parts of the ACA that affect me personally. There are other provisions that are just as helpful and necessary, and a blessing if you really wanna know, that affect other people.

can a relative handful of radical extremists hold the vast majority hostage. They're kind of like the extremists who flew hijacked planes into the World Trade Center, willing to die for some imaginary purpose. And they don't care who gets killed in the process. And for the most part, they're religious fanatics too.
So the difference between the Teabilly Party and the Taliban is...............
The Teabilly Party is better funded and has a world class propaganda operation.

that is an accurate portrayal of what the GOP is doing to your underwhelming (but better than nothing) ACA.

Sadly, you prove yourself to be a corporatist willing to economically destroy Americans with your choices for our financial leaders.

I really do not know which is better anymore, we are a fascist nation and you have played a large role... the realization is definitely scary.

I think this spine should have been exercised earlier, so I grind my teeth when I say that yes, I like it when it happens.

Pres. Obama has never even approximately spent his political capital on the "left".
From the start Pres. Obama has pandered to a non-existent "bipartisan government".

Hopefully Pres. Obama continues exercising that spine.
