Sun Nov 10, 2013, 12:42 AM
Nov 2013

But mostly because their cause is so inconsequential and because so their theories are actually allowed to proliferate and divide people and just make the extreme right look nuttier in my opinion. But I hate when people conflate them with those in the 911 Truth movement. That event killed 3000 Americans on US soil and led to numerous wars and millions dead. And it was used as an excuse to justify completely changing our world into one big gulag where we should be ok with the state recording and analyzing our every whisper. It was not thoroughly investigated as admitted by guys like Democratic Senator, war hero, triple amputee Max Cleland who called it a lie, sham and whitewash in disgust. The consequences of this lie are epic but the Birthers? To them their 'event' is that a Black man got into high office. Truly pathetic.

I haven't looked up this clown, but I will bet that his "charity" work was as a missionary, probably mormon. Doesn't necessarily detract from his dedication to charity, but it does put it in context.

In any case, what a fucking moron (without the second m).

18. Birtherism will never, ever die
Fri Nov 8, 2013, 03:58 PM

From June, 2012

Birtherism Will Never, Ever Die -- Get Used to It

Despite the complete lack of evidence to support their claims, birthers continue to assert that President Barack Obama was born in Kenya. When will it stop? It won't. Not ever.

Thanks largely to the efforts of Donald Trump, it is abundantly clear that birtherism has survived the release of Obama's long-form birth certificate roughly 13 months ago. With that out of the way, there is nothing left that can stop it. The birther cause is now destined to join the pantheon of enduring fringe movements like the Flat Earth Society and the folks who insist the moon landings were faked. It is here to stay.

The durable nature of birtherism was not always so obvious. Prior to the release of the long-form certificate, the very nature of their demands seemed to doom the movement to eventual oblivion. In 2010, the birther blog "Expose Obama" summed things up this way: "If you are born in a hospital there are records. It is called a long form birth certificate. Just release it and we go away." It was tempting to believe them.

from California as part of a student rewards package because "when the Obama girls are in residence, they close the White House off to tours". This is his first visit to the east coast. I told her that wasn't true and that it is open now, and was only closed during the shutdown. Obviously the private wing is not available for tours. She's a low information voter who seems to believe 2nd and 3rd hand stories about Obama.

Makes me nuts. I've no idea what all else she's been told or believes. Next time I'll ask for her exact source so that I can check it out for her, since she never will.

"I held back my snarky comment...." he says.

It's all about the "African" with this guy. It's not about heritage, it's about race.

If he was referencing JFK and was talking to an Irish kid and said "Well, you know what, we already have (had) someone from Ireland as President of the United States" and that was written in an article, no one would think a thing of it. But he's telling on himself, and using the word "snarky"--taking pains to make sure that his audience is quite clear as to his attitude. "Birther" is code for "Black" and "Bigotry"--make no mistake.

I am just amazed that this kind of hate still sells. It's horrific.

Sure, you give them proof that even Repugs have to admit is real ... and they won't accept it.

Maybe we should just tell anybody who hears someone spout the Bengazzi stuff that if they can't understand that Obama was born in Hawaii, they can't accept any reality that doesn't fit their agenda ...
