Do you think they look incredulous? They look like they don't know what's going on - and they are very uncomfortable.

and pissed that Cuomo's producers set up the interview ostensibly to discuss basketball, and turned it into another discussion on-air that Rodman has insisted from jump street that he wasn't qualified to have. Whether Rodman should've gone to North Korea given the political climate and the captive American is an entirely different subject, one worthy of discussion, but it is definitely not a conversation Rodman can have while in North Korea. Cuomo knew that, and was irresponsible in putting Rodman and the other basketball players at risk.

This is like grilling someone who met Castro "Did you tell him what a terrible person he is? Did you demand the release of all of his political prisoners?"

How about we do this to people visiting the Saudis?

Maybe on Bush's next visit.

conduct diplomacy on behalf of somebody who's being held against their will or, even more ridiculous, for him to directly challenge the North Korean regime while he's in the country?

This is the fucking problem with the American media. They'll go after a guy like Rodman, who has no real power or influence and whom nobody takes seriously, but they won't say boo to any of the politicians with real power who come on their shows and lie through their teeth because they're afraid of losing access.

I'm sorry, but I'm tired of watching people take shots at Rodman. If you watch the Vice documentary about his first trip to North Korea, you see that there is some utility to him going over there. Rodman and these basketball players are the first real Americans that the North Koreans have seen up close, and the message that he's tried to express in public over there, albeit clumsily, is that Americans are friends to the North Korean people, which stands in stark contrast to all of the state sponsored propaganda.

I seriously don't know what else you could expect from somebody like Rodman.

he has no message to give anyone over there; it's all about more attention for Dennis and his freakshow, and more money.

"I'm calling on the Supreme Leader of North Korea or as I call him "Kim", to do me a solid and cut Kenneth Bae loose."

Chris Cuomo, hack as usual.
