Obama NSA Reforms Are "A Bouquet of Roses" to the Intelligence Agencies

Last edited Sat Jan 18, 2014, 04:51 PM - Edit history (1)

Michael Ratner: By portraying NSA surveillance as "patriotic," President Obama ignores the violations of Americans' constitutional rights - January 17, 2014

Belgian MSM also points out the speech did not adress the basic problems, by the way. They are staying on the truth path, very interesting. They had been much less than forthcoming, but seem to try to get us up to speed quickly. Yesterday, headlined with "tape of your web cam because it's being watched", in several outlets at once.

On edit: I'll tack the next analysis segment from TRNN on:

Reforms must include independent oversight with unrestricted access to all intelligence databases, say whistleblowers - January 18, 14

I'd say the same issue was at the heart of the Guardian comments: the fact that there is no verification. A case of trust us - or trussst us.

There are a great many right now that do...and no one had to threaten them with a rat cage on the face.

Every president since Lincoln has been under threat. It sucks, but thankfully our ancestors didn't run pissing their pants and demand an end to privacy.

And if they had, it wouldn't have ended the treats, just privacy and freedom. Just like what it will do now.

Agreed, but it isn't "what it will do" but "what is has done".

9. Funny how you say you don't mind the NSA and their corporate backers watching you pee

Because when our founding fathers wrote the Constitution, privacy was all about peeing. The word privacy came from privy which was the toilet. So if someone said back then, "I need some privacy" they meant they had to go pee.

So in every sense of the word you want the NSA and their corporate backers to watch you pee. You are very kinky.

Of course when you say that you mean not only watch you pee but watch and record the rest of us too. Thank God you didn't write the Constitution.
