Is America Ready For A Kinky Diaper-Wearing Governor?

The Young Turks ·Published on Jan 26, 2014

"Sen. David Vitter announced on Tuesday morning that he will run for governor of Louisiana in 2015.

"I believe that as our next governor I can have a bigger impact addressing the unique challenges and opportunities that we face in Louisiana," Vitter said in a Youtube video launching his gubernatorial run. Along with the 2.5-minute video, Vitter also unveiled a new website touting his credentials and soliciting contributions to his campaign.

The conservative Republican said that for now, he will continue to focus on his work in the Senate. While his "active campaign" won't start until next year, the senator has already begun laying the groundwork for it by holding hundreds of listening sessions across Louisiana. He said this will be his "last political job, elected or appointed. Period.""* Ana Kasparian, Dave Rubin (Rubin Report) and Desi Doyen (Green News Report) break it down.

- Louisiana elected a man governor who used to exorcise demons on the side. So I suppose this could be seen as an improvement???

1. Perfect example of the IOKIYAR double standard

Right wingers STILL haven't gotten over or forgiven Bill Clinton (or Anthony Weiner for that matter) but it's OK to be a hypocrite if you're a Republican, as long as you apologize when you get caught. (Unless you're gay, of course, then you claim 'wide stance' and deny, deny, deny)

2. There is something strange and disturbing about Vitter's gestures.

His eyebrows go up and down. His head bobs up and down. His mouth moves in an exaggerated manner. Yet he is so stiff. It's as if his eyebrows, his head and his mouth each move independently, separated from the whole. Very strange.

He moves something above his shoulders nearly all the time he speaks, and he punctuates his words with head-jerks. It is really odd. I don't want to make fun of someone for having some sort of disability, but I would like to know what causes these strange facial contortions.

4. Couldn't bear to watch him, but your descriptions sounds like the shrub in his TV debates...

He moved around looking like a psychotic rooster on crack and I couldn't believe that the "liberal media" didn't mock him extensively for it. Seems like I remember them coming down hard on Howard Dean. So how come the "liberal media" gave shrub a pass for his on stage antics?

5. I suspect that there is a conflict between what he really thinks and what he is saying.

His body and his words are not comfortable with each other. Maybe he really doesn't believe what he is saying. Maybe his body is telling him that he is lying.

Or, maybe he is thinking about "how do I look?" or "am I doing this right?" or "is this good enough?" -- that is not about how to communicate honestly with the audience but how to look good.

There is a split between his real self and the self he is projecting on the video. After thinking about it, that is the conclusion I reach.

3. Yes, as long as he or she is a Republican.

On the other hand, a Democrat would be considered a Godless Sodomite just for having sex with their spouse in some position other than missionary (with the lights off).
