...on TV specials, etc., during the 60's.

Hers was my dad's favorite version -- he recorded it on a cassette, off the TV (in those pre-Youtube link days!) and would wonder on her own wartime experiences, brought to the song...

Thanks, villager. That was beautiful. Indeed, when will we ever learn? I thought Pete would live forever, just like I thought my Grandma would live forever. Grandma lived to be 97. It's not fair to want them to live forever. To everything there is a season, turn, turn, turn.
Pete overcame today, but deep in my heart he and Grandma will live forever.

... she played the mandolin and sang, but mostly encouraged sister and I to sing. Taught sister to play the mandolin. I couldn't sit still 5 minutes to learn anything. Then later on I learned the guitar and many of Pete's songs. Sat on grandma's bedside and strummed my little 6-string & sang Pete Seeger and John Denver songs to her in her last days.

thank you, I have never seen this. It was a plea, then a prayer, then an accusation, her eyes her face.....you can see the war.
