Down here in Tampa, the papers talk about how, in a time when every social service has been cut to well below bare minimum, the one federal aid they do allow Tampa to enjoy are these security forces. Of course, we are still on the hook for 50 million, which we should make back once the GOP stops suing us for holding them to their contracted rate for hotel rooms (which are cheaper than anything else they could get in Summer.) Oh, and trolls posting in all the papers brag about how they already plan to get any liberal arrested they can, so they can be knocked off the voting rolls.

Most of us Tampa liberals are already planning to get the Hell outta dodge.

The location of the downtown area and squirming all the pigs in at once, add protectors, and police sweating in their riot gear with the high temps and humidity...

Also, for all the talks of their richie rich ways, they r cheap bastards. They want the hotels to give the rooms away. Ridiculous. I wouldnt doubt if the hotel owners say F-U and don't allow them to rent.

Downtown is already a pain in the ass with all the contruction... It's the stupidest idea of the pigs to hold this in Tampa. There's not enough room. It will take like 2 hrs to get into the downtown area. Hopefully, the city takes a holiday and the regular workers aren't having to deal with the assholes and the added traffic.

The saving grace of downtown is the trolley we have, as that will be the one way people will get from the convention center to their appointments with nightclubs and prostitutes in Ybor. True enough, they will probably cut that too, as if a football sadium is all a city needs.

And I would love to see the hotel owners screw the GOP. It's not like they will have any problem filling the rooms anyway. People are buying rooms in Orlando (an hour away on good days) which means all the county roads will be JAMMED.

Maybe they were hoping that it would give them an edge in the state of Florida. Of course if they keep trying to screw over the hotel owners because they are cheap bastards, it may backfire on them.

It would certainly help the ratings.
