(29,876 posts)RT and I try to watch it regularly.
RT gets slammed around quite a bit on this forum by some but it seems many of those slamming also support NSA spying and war with Russia.
Go figure...
Keep up the good work!

(6,419 posts)Russian apologists have no place in progressive movements. You look like a real sell-out, Thom.

(84,711 posts)even has to APOLOGIZE for where he reports his show from shows how far we in the USA have FALLEN.
What is GOING ON HERE! WE HAVE A DEMOCRATICALLY ELECTED PRESIDENT and
the "LEFT MEDIA" is now being hunted down and having to EXPLAIN THEMSELVES!
Hey THOM ...I'm going to watch you wherever you are but to try to shut down RT or Tar you with some antiquated "Cold War" brush from the 20th Century is TRULY DISGUSTING!
Those who want to stifle "FREE PRESS in AMERICA" are not "Putin's RUSSIA" but Neo-Con/NeoLiberal American "THINK TANKS" and the Wall Street "GLOBILIZATION FREAKS!'

(904 posts)I've listened to Thom for many years, and I don't see what the *(?#%$ you're talking about.
Since when is is required for everyone in this country, especially the pundits (of which Hartmann is one), to march lock-step with whoever in order to condemn Putin? I've always considered Hartmann to be more nuanced than that, and expect him to be.
I await more examples from you - and your Daily Kos post is insufficient to call him a sell-out.

(6,419 posts)while refusing to go anywhere near condemning the invasion of a sovereign country. Hartmann is accepting as fact the conspiracy theory about the snipers. Hartmann is repeating that conspiracy theory without mentioning that it was from a (Russian) phone tap--and he will complain about NSA spying everyday on his show.
When someone brings up gay rights in Russia, he starts talking about Saudi Arabia and the women's right to vote in 1920s USA!
Either Hartmann is of the "US bad so Russia must be no so bad" simplistic school, the same school that once had liberals tolerating the USSR, or he's got financial reasons for going easy on Putin, or both.
The hard left of Europe are under no illusions about what a Russian dictator is all about:

(55,981 posts)The closed-minded among us wish to lock or hide threads of anyone that doesnt march to their tune. And instead of debating the merits of an article they go for the censor and use "source" as their justification in lieu of what's in the article.

(129 posts)I agree. It's much better to evaluate a story on it's own, rather than assume a story is good/bad/biased just based on the source.
