(11,080 posts)I just watched Django Unchained and I'm waiting for some Republican to quote Leonardo DiCaprio's line about phrenology and slaves having large bumps in the "servility area" of their skulls.

(7,309 posts)The majority of skinheads are either apolitical or adamantly against racism. The subculture started with the Jamaican Rude Boys and British Mods as a working class culture that liked style and music (Motown, Rock Steady, Punk, etc.).
SHARP (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice), RASH (Red and Anarchist Skinheads), AntiFa (Anti-fascist Skinheads) have sprung up in the early 80s to take back the original subculture. WAR (White Aryan Resistance), HammerSkins and their like are referred to as "Boneheads" by apolitical or TRADs (Traditional Skinheads). WAR and Hammer are the ones you see on Geraldo.

(7,309 posts)I wasn't a skinhead myself (more of a mod/punk), but I hung out with RASH and SHARP skins. I'll tell ya what, they didn't take too kindly to the Boneheads fucking up the general skinhead subculture.
Many a fight were to be had whenever we saw them.
The thing is that there were always a few who didn't have the dedication, and when we'd catch them alone, would totally disavow any of their views - and end up having beers with us.
It was a bunch of lost boys led by fanatical leaders. Sad really.

(11,080 posts)At least Paul Ryan used the code "inner cities" instead of the term he first thought of. So, maybe he woke up for the part where the white moderator said to the assembled Republicans, "Now, when you want to say something negative about black people, and you know you will, don't call them black people. Say "people in the inner city" or "urban poor." We'll know whatcha mean. But it will confuse the uneducated darkies--I mean, urban poor. There, you see how it works?"

(17,609 posts)that they still think that black PEOPLE aren't PEOPLE. They and many who don't even know that they are racist consider black PEOPLE as some type of OTHER such as livestock or an alien from another planet.
Last week I heard one of these talking heads as he was talking about Putin and as he was discussing the situation he said "We have to help the people they look like us" and it wasn't on Fox.

For gawd's sake, Obama is descended from five English kings going back to William the Conqueror and further back to Charlemagne. Even Romney can't brag about an Anglo-Saxon pedigree like that.
