inasmuch as we have Amerind and European conquistador land claims which date back a lot further than the Bundy family's presence in this geographical vicinity.

Let this be a fight about the Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management's congressional jurisdiction over what were generally ceded as barren lands.

No mining rights involved. Fighting over scrub yes?
