(12,504 posts)but he and Mia Love seem to appeal to the RW idiots in this state and I'm afraid things are not going to change too soon. HOWEVER, I do believe his defunding stand and votes needs to be clearly broadcast so he can be publically aligned with his fund killing and ultimately Embassy personnel killing actions.

(23,078 posts)and the other 1% that fund them. F*** them, one and all. There used to be some half-way decent Repugs (Chaffee comes to mind) but they are long gone. The ones there now are more traitors to the country than anything else, sucking us (the working class) dry for the benefit of the ultra rich. That's why they cut funding for embassy security, it didn't help the rich, so was not anything they'd suport. They don't give a flying f*** about the dead, see how they obstructed investigations into 911, they just care about using this as a political tool for faux snooze and their sheeple.

glowing
(12,233 posts)who said lack of funding didn't effect Benghazi. But if there was a lack of security forces available to protect Americans, wouldn't it be insufficient security protocols? I don't know how the state dept handles it's security budget or how they use their resources to cover hot spots.
With regards to Benghazi, was it really an embassy post? Or was that the "front story" that was used to hide the CIA having boots on the ground; doing God knows what?

(14,168 posts)I can't understand why the Democrats do not pound this over the news media every day! ... That House Republicans cut the administration's request for embassy security funding by $128 million in fiscal 2011 and $331 million in fiscal 2012.
Or ask why this attack is so much more important to investigate further than 13 attacks under their dear leader Dubya?
I still am baffled to the right wing mindset that Hillary properly reacted with, "why does it matter?" as far as exactly if or when Obama called it a "terrorist attack" at the time, (before all the facts were in) or not? What matters is that it happened and what can we do to prevent future attacks. Certainly not by cutting embassy security.

(12,121 posts)Benghazi questions were raised, this might not be such a meme of theirs.
If 60 Minutes Benghazi story had been more about interviewing Congressmen who had voted to cut funding for embassy security and their efforts to use a tragedy for political aims, that might have helped too.
We clearly have a very conservative mass media.

(3 posts)In testimony Wednesday before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Charlene Lamb, a deputy assistant secretary of state for diplomatic security, was asked, Was there any budget consideration and lack of budget which led you not to increase the number of people in the security force there?
Lamb responded, No, sir.

(3 posts)If Benghazi is a phoney scandal, then Democrats should want Republicans to spend their time and effort investigating it. If this is a real scandal, then of course, you should oppose the investigation in any way that you can, including with dishonest graphics that you post and repost in facebook and twitter.
