A heartless vandal stole a sign dedicated to a 7-year-old victim of the Newtown school shooting, then called and taunted the girl's mother, telling the grieving woman the massacre was a hoax.

The demented Sandy Hook "truther" lifted the 50-pound purple vinyl panel, with a peace sign and sun design, from the Mystic, Conn., playground built in honor of Grace McDonnell, one of the 20 first-graders gunned down inside Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14, 2012.
