Glaciologist Jason Box on Bill Maher

Dark Snow Project Chief Scientist Dr. Jason Box was the guest on last week’s RealTime with Bill Maher.

It’s difficult to keep up with, much less steer, an interview with someone as mercurial as Bill Maher, but Dr. Box does a decent job.
He gives a good description of the “dark snow” albedo problem with Greenland ice, the basis of the first Dark Snow expedition, and there’s some nice video from the new drone now in operation on the ice.

Eventually deniers should somehow have to answer for their intransigence. I guess they will be dead before the chickens come home to roost.

Well, I didn't actually think much about glaciologists back then at all. If I did, it was probably, "How boring is that job? Watching glaciers? The big drama is when the glacier moves 1 millimeter in a week."

And then this stuff happens:

It turns out glaciology may be important.

He thinks about the droughts, the heat waves, and the guns in the States- and doesn't want his daughter here when it all comes apart.

Not if...when.

so those models are just a minimum of what will happen.

K&R, totally recommended, totally depressing tho. Sigh.
