A Debate on Gaza: Ali Abunimah of Electronic Intifada vs. J.J. Goldberg of the Jewish Daily Forward
Published on Jul 23, 2014
http://www.democracynow.org - We host a debate on U.S. media's coverage of the Israel-Gaza conflict and the roots of the crisis with two guests: Ali Abunimah, co-founder of the website Electronic Intifada & author of the new book, "The Battle for Justice in Palestine"; and J.J. Goldberg, editor-at-large and columnist at the newspaper, The Jewish Daily Forward. Abunimah and Goldberg discuss news headlines that ignore the massive Palestinian toll, whether the ceasefire should address the Gaza blockade, and the history of the conflict.

(1,893 posts)I am so grateful for Ali Abunimah. His excellent site, Electric Intifada, is an invaluable counter to the relentless, boundless tidal wave of pro-Israel propaganda thrown in our faces day after day.
Notice how close Goldberg came to walking off the set? All he could do was try to concede in the least damaging way, but Abunimah was not going to give him the usual powder puff treatment Israel's defenders are used to.
This is a quote from Abunimah that will stay with me:
"Why is the onus always on the occupied, the dispossessed, the refugees, to prove their good behavior to the ghetto masters?"
Thank you KoKo for posting this.
