Definition - the use of words that mean the opposite of what you really want to say especially in order to insult someone, to show irritation, or to be funny.

makes it think what is being said or written is really what the speaker or writer wants. I don't go to the Onion anymore, but I did when it first came out. But, then, to each his own.
