Then they'll run away, like they did when he asked them to repeal the AUMF. Or this summer when they had better things to do and asked him to do their job on foreign affairs.

Then call him weak for not going to war or a dictator for taking action in a crisis they didn't think deserved their time. Their tools will call him a warmonger no matter what he does.

I see a pattern here...

Best I can figure, his only real "sin" was running as a Democrat.

However, I do think that Republicans play the race and gender cards, in part because some of them are that way and in part because they know their base. With Bubba, it was another card Republicans have used against Democrats for a long time, namely, the "Loose morals, no family values, just like Hollywood liberals" card.

this one takes the cake. I realized yesterday I need a new hairdresser, not that I can find one any more progressive in this town. She told me he wore the tan suit to "look more black" what/?????

Of course they're worst of all regarding our President Barack Hussein Obama, who looks smashing no matter what he wears. We just need to love him more than they hate him, to bring balance back into the universe. (That's easy for me. If I had got to make up my own president, couldn't have done better myself.) Nobody's perfect, not even me, but he damn sure runs circles around the rest.

99. Agree - I doubt they would have prefered the seersucker suits worn by Rep Senators in 2006

Thanks to DU archives, we have the articles describing who wore them - and per the Hill - looked like ice cream vendors - but alas, the links to articles and photos are dead. Imagine President Obama had appeared in a seersucker suit rather than the dignified, well tailored suit in a color that looked very good on him.

Obama's suit is very classy and he looks great. It does seem that most summer suits seem to get those attacks. For years, I saw negative comments on Kerry wearing suits a similar color.

However, to me, when the Republicans and media are attacking on something as innocuous as the color of a suit -- ignoring that it is of course well tailored -- it means Obama has given them very few PERSONAL things to complain about. The same thing could be said of complaining because he took what was a total of about 2 weeks - interrupted by a planned few days in DC - quietly vacationing with his wife and daughters again shows they have little else. That he was in meetings, being briefed and making calls a significant part of the time in Martha's Vineyard as well makes the accusations even sillier.
