I know I used to hear it constantly as a kid. Can anyone identify it? It might have been a local New York City show.

4. It was a theme for "The Late Show" on WCBS-TV, when it was old movies.

It was also used as the theme for "The Early Show" same station, same movies in the late afternoon.

5. I remember it as a show introduction when I was a kid, too- I don't remember if it was TV or radio

I think it was a local program. It was probably used in a lot of show intros.

I think they also played a sort of syncopated "bloop-bloop" sound like an old-fashioned coffee percolator.

I've played many many of his compositions and arrangements throughout the years. I like some of them and others I find rather droll....others I think are just over played, like his version of Sleigh Ride during the holidays.
