The entire thing never made sense as France clearly likes both Obama and Kerry more than any Republican you could name. (Not to mention, Kerry's French is better than Romney's and who had the chutzpah to compare the hardship (?) of being a missionary in France to serving in Vietnam.)

Bringing James Taylor, a long time friend of Kerry's, was fantastic - and the song perfect. I remember a CSPAN Road to the White House where Carole King sang the song while campaigning for Kerry in the primaries.

That summarizes how I feel about what James Taylor did by playing there in France.

My mom's a musician and I called her to tell her about it too. She said musicians and artists can empathize with others and also express love, which is beyond words.
