Lack of Oversight is Killing Seniors

When families make the decision to put a loved one in hospice care, they are under the assumption that the caretaker will adhere to a strict code of ethics and provide the best service possible to ailing patients. But that isn’t always the case – in fact, the system has become so bad that senior citizens are dying on a regular basis from sub-par hospice care.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses the problem with attorney Charles Meltmar.

and the nurses were very, very good and perceptive and gentle, but the administrators left a lot to be desired...

My sisters and I were very protective of my mother but it very worrying for seniors (or anyone else in hospice) who don't have close family or friends to watch out for them.
