(81,220 posts)o'reilly was yanked off the story and sent home to New York. He REFUSED to turn off the camera lights - that the bureau chief in Buenos Aires warned would make the camera crews a target at night, during a protest that was anti-American because America sided with the Brits in the Falklands War. It did NOT turn into a riot as o'reilly claimed, there was NO combat zone he got anywhere near as o'reilly claimed, and nobody ON HAND in Buenos Aires working for CBS News remembers any cameraman getting wounded as o'reilly claimed. He was yanked outta there because he wasn't a team player and he flouted the rules and did exactly what he felt like doing against the dictates of the bureau chief. None of his "reports" ever made the Evening News. Which was probably a VERY good thing - heaven knows what bullshit he was trying to pass off to make himself look like Mr. Valiant Superman News Reporter.
Harvey Levin used to showboat like that all the time in local TV news, long before TMZ.com. Every time there was a massive winter rainstorm here in SoCal, that unleashed mudslides and flooding and swollen creeks and flood-control channels. And sure enough, at some point during that storm coverage, you'd see ol' Harvey Levin out there, standing knee-deep in the rising flood-control channel with the water rushing past him - to do his on-camera standup. Exactly what one must NEVER do under those conditions. Shit - he could easily have been swept away by the powerful currents in those flooded channels - to his death. Because that's what tended to happen to reckless gawkers who ignored the warnings to keep clear. There would almost always be reports accompanying the biggest storms here - of someone disappearing in the rushing waters because they got too close and lost their balance and fell in. The body would invariably turn up far downstream.

(765 posts)I seem to remember bill being sued, for sexual harassment some years ago, by one of the female producers on his show. I think she lost her job. So bill is safe, no matter what.

(970 posts)But I've been a 'not-fan' of this sanctimonious blowhard for quite a while.
Oscars are for good acting. Razzies are for the bad. Were it up to me, I'd invent another class of awards for him; possibly involving brass plated feces.
But I fully acknowledge my biases.

(24,695 posts)Just show the entire world how you have fabricated this story to fit your right wing agenda, and the entire world is going to watch how your boss, Rupert Murdoch keeps you on board without any mind you. any repercussions to your fabricated story, if I were to tell a LIE I would get fired in a heart beat--so to save everyone from more of your embellished "story" ---please go back under your proverbial rock and do more grandstanding, we all still remember your stint on Inside Edition, it really showed who you are---a hypocrite
