Sheriff Mack is the one who said at the Bundy Ranch that they were going to put women and children up front for the feds to shoot so that their little band of lawbreakers could use it for propaganda purposes.

He can be opposed to the ACA all he wants, but the difference here is that he worked to deny it to people who need it. Now he himself needs it, whether he want to admit it or not.

Karma bit him in the butt.

It sad but true that people that have fallen for the RW brainwashing. When somethin something like tort reform gets passed and later when it affects them, they are in shock!
As an attorney in Texas where medical malpractice was gutted, I see people all the time wanting to sue a doctor or hospital. When I tell them that I think they have a case for malpractice, but I can't take their case because the damage cap is $250,000, and our cost will be $100,000 in case expenses, and attorney's fees are 40% of the total. The settlement value tends to be less than the cap since that is the maximum they would have to pay for losing. We would risk the 100k and may not get it back and the client would get virtually no money in their pocket. They always say, "I thought that was for just the frivolous cases!"
They never think any of this stuff will apply to them!
One more, read an article in Mother Jones about an 80 plus year old Texas Republican fighting for legalization for pot in Texas. Lifelong active Republican with her picture of she and Reagan on the wall etc. She has been a rich fundraiser for years and so has access to Texas politicians and even got Ted Cruz to change his mind to support legalization. Her change of heart on the issue happened when her adult son was badly injured and told her that pot really helped him. She said that once one of the current nay sayers have a family member that admits it is helping them, they will change their mind!
Why does it have to be personal before they come around? My girlfriend says it's because they don't care about anyone else. Can't say that I disagree!

it's also hammered into their heads that it's the lazy, undeserving brown folk who fuck them over, not the very people they are voting for

your response is worthy of a thread of its own

RW politics and ideology. Some of it is that they too have lost income, status etc., but believe the propaganda that it is minorities, Libruls etc., that are causing their problems.
The PTB have used their media conglomerates to hype up the Partisianship and get the sides blaming each other for the problems in the country caused by the Plutocrats!

"Don't Tread On Me" flags and Keep the IRS Out Of Our Lives signs. Not a single cogent rational thought among them. And it looks to me like some of these folks are probably on Medicare.

Obamacare provides people with the opportunity to buy health insurance (with government assistance if need be). It also stops the insurance industry from cherry picking clients. It also means that doctors and hospitals will be paid for their services.

I think it is all summed up by the sudden turnaround by doctors, hospitals, insurance industry, pharmaceutical industry and the GOP itself that are in a panic that The Supreme Court will actually do what they have been advocating; killing Obamacare.
