....I just liked the way the woman stood up for herself against that gas bag cleric. Especially since she is in a traditional culture that does not always respect the independence and rights of women.

The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) is a not for profit press monitoring organization with headquarters in Washington, D.C. MEMRI publishes and distributes free English language translations of Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Pashto, and Turkish media reports.[1] The institute was co-founded in 1998 by Yigal Carmon, a former Israeli military intelligence officer and Meyrav Wurmser, an Israeli-born American political scientist. MEMRI states that its goal is to "bridge the language gap between the Middle East and the West".[2] Critics charge that it aims to portray the Arab and Muslim world in a negative light, through the production and dissemination of inaccurate translations and by selectively translating views of extremists while deemphasizing or ignoring mainstream opinions.

...don't know what their connection to this news broadcast might have been, but it does not, in my opinion, cast a negative light. It shows a woman in a professional, infuential position asserting herself against a traditionalist, sexist gas bag. And it's a hoot!

So I'll cut them some slack in this one case.

this video is awesome.

It's okay if you didn't know what Memri was before. Yes it has a bad reputation and it shouldn't be used as a touchstone, but since it's hardly ever on DU and this video is so great that I think this one should get a pass.

Wow what an wonderful woman. The Lebanese Rachel Maddow?

He reminded me of those Home Shopping Network people who can ramble on about a gold-plated toothpick for 15 minutes.

Good for her. She told him to politely "Go fuck yourself"
