(3,626 posts)that the anti-abortion language is not specific to the rest of the bill. I think they just threw it in there because, after all, who could possible object to anti-trafficking, and expected the bill to just breeze through. The Democrats absolutely have to minutely examine each and every bill that the nuts on the other side approve. They've been trying this for years! ETA: Evil Bastards.

(23,065 posts)She may be too corporatist and militaristic for my preference, however, she's not racist and not anti-woman. You can bet your bottom dollar that the Repug candidate, whoever the clown may be, will be both of the above PLUS more militaristic and more corportist than Clinton. She's also in favor of raising the minimum wage, again a really good thing.
I'll vote for Bernie in the primaries, he's far more leftist than she is and my true pick, but if she's the general election candidate, I'll vote for her.

(2,672 posts)So she's less militaristic and corporatist than any GOP candidate. Whether more or less, isn't being militaristic and corporatist enough? That's like voting for the lesser of two evils. Why does it always seem to come down to that?
lark
(23,065 posts)but this country is so controlled by the 1%, even the msm strongly supports the corportacrcy, that a true populist anti-war person would never get elected. Obama ran as anti-war, and pro privacy, but that isn't what we got when he was in office. Much as I hate it, it looks like we are stuck voting for "not as bad", unless we don't vote or vote for a 3rd party candidate, and then we get much much worse.
Pragmatism isn't pretty, but it's better than the alternative. Still will vote for Bernie in the primaries, he's the one I want.

(107 posts)is Loretta Lynch's answer to a question during her hearing: "Is waterboarding torture?"
Her answer was without equivocation. She said "Waterboarding is torture and is a crime."
I think she scares the Republicans. She is not afraid of them. The anti-women language is the poison pill that ensures further delay. "Very clever, these Republicans."

(750 posts)Bush said he did what he did, which was torture, Cheney said he would do it again if given the chance.
That part of America that owns a huge chunk of the economy, supports the Republican right base, and demonizes everything and anything Obama does to encourage a whole new Health Care system is policy torture.
Its my firm believe all Medicare and Medicaid should be combined to eliminate the crazy system that is dysfunctional, combine all of it in the Affordable Care Act. AARP is not needed. It is a government established entity that is over due to vanish.
Inadequate public policy driven by hate is torture. America has had Hate Health Care water boarding for the last century.
This type of politics is built in all types of legislation for the past century.
If the current Republican party could torture by water boarding which is physical trauma, and get away it, they will easily torture American citizens via behavior patterns that influence the electorate to work against their good intentions. That is insane
I applaud Loretta Lynch

(21 posts)Eric Holder should charge those 47 republican senators with committing high treason during a time of war, chain em up, send them to Guantanamo Bay. That should encourage them to vote on a new attorney general.

I bet by the launch of the fifth investigation even the stupid ones will get the idea.
