...which is rare for him. The President conducts foreign policy, true, but the Senate does have the constitutional duty/right to ratify or not ratify treaties that the President negotiates, as well as approving or disapproving ambassadorial appointments, etc. It is thus appropriate for Senators to speak out on foreign policy--provided that they are actually elected representatives of the people, and not s/elected by e-voting machines that are run on 'TRADE SECRET' programming code, owned and controlled largely by ONE, PRIVATE, FAR RIGHTWING-CONNECTED CORPORATION (ES&S, which bought out Diebold), with NO AUDIT AT ALL in half the states of the union and a miserably inadequate 1% audit in the other half!

Of these TERRIBLE vote-counting systems, Arkansas is one of the worst, for the use of UNELECTED office-holders to employ the mechanisms of power to REDUCE voter participation and to oppress workers, the poor and the black, in favor of the uber-rich and transglobal corporate powers.

So, a) it is not surprising at all that our privatized, corporatized vote-counting system produces traitors, and b) I don't recognize Tom Cotton as actually elected, whatever he is--traitor, corporate shill, nutball.

Thom is correct that Senators have no power at all to negotiate with foreign governments. This is exclusively the President's power. The unelected assholes who sent the letter to Iran's government and invited Israel's war-mad leader to address Congress have committed treason, no question about it--much like the treason that Reagan and his henchmen committed in 1980, getting the Iranian hostage-takers to hold their American hostages until after the 1980 election, and trading arms for hostages WITH IRAN! Our Constitutional system has been on a steep downslide since that time, but never in our history has it been so gravely imperiled as now, with the fascist takeover of the very counting of our votes.

You wonder what's wrong--how these traitors, warmongers, nutballs and freaks can be in power in Congress, and in statehouses and legislatures across the land? THIS IS WHAT'S WRONG. They were NOT elected.
