I haven't seen many riots going on in Mass, or nearby Connecticut, who has had it nearly as long. In fact, Connecticut and Mass finished in a virtual tie as the two best states for "quality of life" in a recent study. (high income & education levels, with low crime rates)

if you stay away from the Boston area and the southwestern part of Connecticut (close to NYC), New England can be somewhat affordable. Of course, Boston is a huge metro area, and Fairfield, Litchfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut also has a ton of people and some of the most expensive zip codes in the country, so that skews the cost of living for the rest of the region when people look at affordability.

as of 2011 numbers, 53% of marriages end in divorce.
Not one of my children's friends have parents in their first marriage.
Not saying marriage is bad. What I am saying is what it is not: a holy event, blessed by "god".
good marriages take TWO willing and active participants that want to be together. Your sky fairy has nothing to do with it.

18. What a..............
Fri May 1, 2015, 02:14 PM
May 2015

..................absolute BIGOT.
And just from his words in my opinion, he also sounds like he is closet racists.

Way to go Texas, not only do you elect bigots, but you have a bigot on the floor of the House of representatives, representing Texas as a BIGOT for the Lone Star State of hypocrisy---keep up the good work.

Now, if someone from his district of representation would go down to his local office and ask why in the 113th Congress---he did the following.........

Why, just ask why, he took off last year over 200 days of vacation along with his boss John Boehner, Kevin McCarthy and the entire republican establishment in the majority of power, making $14,500 a month / $174,000 a year and then doing absolutely nothing for the state.
Trying to fast track without public debate the social security and trying to gut this viable fully funded social program along with two hypocrites by the name of Delaney (D-MD) and Cole (R-OK), to privatize this program to the banks, hedge funds-----why?
Not saying a word about the TPP----why?
Voted for CAFTA---why?
Voted yes for the Korean trade policy---now losing 6,000+ and more everyday U.S steel jobs to Korea-----why?
From Jan 2011 to Apr 2015, Flores missed 81 of 3,017 roll call votes, which is 2.7%. This is worse than the median of 2.2% among the lifetime records of representatives currently serving----why?

But he comes and spews his hate, fear and logic that its about marriages, especially about human beings that love each other, no matter what there sexual feelings are-----what a BIGOT, great way to deflect your hypocrisy of doing nothing for society, except spew words like a BIGOT.

Maybe if he was a real representative instead of being a messenger of his concept of "marriages" to his tea party base of BIGOTS, but instead speak about the economic plight in this country, he then can have the floor.

19. My Message to Representative Bill Flores
Fri May 1, 2015, 02:30 PM
May 2015

Dear Representative Flores:

I attempted to send you an email but apparently you don't accept emails from anyone outside your district. Since they elected you as their representative, I will assume that is because you are not used to hearing from people who use multisyllabic words.

I am writing regarding your unbelievably inane comments about the killing of a young black man in Baltimore. You said, "Healthy Marriages are the ones between a man and a woman because they can have a healthy family and they can raise children in a way that's best for their future...There is nothing like traditional marriage that does that for a child."

I was born in 1947 and adopted by a man and a woman, so I assume they meet your definition of a "healthy marriage" and a "traditional marriage." My "healthy father committed suicide when I was five years of age and my "healthy" mother was an alcoholic that spend most of my childhood and into my teens in and out of mental institutions. She committed suicide when I was twenty years of age.

I had no childhood, no stability and nobody that cared about me, in their role of a parent. I would have given anything to have had the opportunity to be adopted by a man and a man, or a woman and a woman who loved each other, loved me and raised me in a "healthy" way. You statement is not only stupid and insensitive but speaks volumes about your lack of compassion for other human beings.

Despite the lack of love and caring I received as a child there are many things I have learned to be grateful for. I will add to that list the fact that I do not live in the 17 Congressional District of Texas. I would add that you should be ashamed of yourself but I am certain you have no shame.

Sincerely yours,

Dark n Stormy Knight

Back in the day they would at least try to cobble together some sort of rationale, albeit bogus. It would follow a completely fallacious logical path, like "the deficit is caused by foot odor because there is a statistical correlation between not wearing socks and poverty"... It wouldn't make any actual sense, but at least there was a perfunctory attempt to get from A to B.

This shit is basically generated by an algorithm. Just plug whatever the fuck is wrong into the first blank, and stick "Gay Marriage" in the other one.

It's like the political equivalent of Mad Libs.

to do is turn on the rw radio shows and you'll hear both local and national blowhards dedicating whole shows to blaming the riots on family breakdown (gays, single pregnant black women, etc)

maybe it started with one moron or crafty think tank hack, but the mechanism is the same- pump the racist crap out of 1000 unchallenged radio stations that are invisible to liberals and pretty soon the buzz is national and well established in many parts of the country.

this kind of idiocy will slither out of our congresses back to the backwater churches if the left would finally stop giving the rw radio monopoly a free speech free ride.
