You would think at least one of them would have the good sense to offer up Eisenhower. He was a nice guy, a respected general, very popular, didn't pick partisan fights, etc. Of course they love Reagan. Each of them dreams of having the power to do what Reagan did, run our constitution through a shredder and establish a secret, shadow government. I'll bet they lie awake at night, thinking of Reagan and getting huge erec.... well, you know.

Only choices are:

1.) Carter
2.) Bush Sr.
3.) Clinton

Carter, Clinton, or Obama.

And yet, some of them still think of a dead President when asked about ALIVE Presidents.

Press secretary Ron Ziegler is dodging questions about Watergate, and appeals to the press corps to ask him a question he can answer. One of the reporters asks, "Ron, what color shirt is the President wearing today?" Ziegler replies, "That's better. Blue."

I think these chumps would find a way to weasel out of even that question.

I'll bet a big part of the reason they didn't want to say Bush was because their own desire to become President is more important than their own party—and they're running against another Bush.

It would be scary to see the thought process of a RW Republican.

fuck up a simple question? They were asked about the best president alive, yet a few of them chose Reagan (who is dead), while others were lukewarm about the Bushes (who are the only 2 Republican presidents alive). What weak responses.

The correct answer to this question is Bill Clinton. The last good Republican president was Ike. He kept the peace and signed the Federal Highway Act into law which created the Interstate Highway System. He sites that as his greatest achievement as President. Also, he was the last Republican president to balance the budget.

My answer is a 3 way tie between the one who never dropped even one bomb on any country, the one who created 22 million jobs, or the one who has done the biggest expansion of health coverage since medicaid and opened relations with Cuba and Iran.

Even if I did vote for John Anderson in one of his elections then, and Michele Bachmann actually campaigned for him those days and probably hates that she did now. I wonder what her answer to this poll question would be if she were asked this question now...

As an ex president, I can't think of many if any better than he. He's really added to his legacy with what he's done since he left office.
