wrecking HP and one failed election attempt doesn't sound so great to me.

31. Study the whole story behind her pushing to OEM Apple's IPOD instead of pursuing HP's solutions...
Her decision to have HP OEM the IPOD instead of continuing the work on HP's own portable music player and downloads solutions along with it's many partners (including a company I worked with at the time then) that would have made the marketplace a lot more open and interoperable between different vendors. That HP Ipod didn't last too long and mainly helped Steve Jobs lock up that market for Ipods and Itunes than it helped HP. I think there probably was a lot of internal frustration with Fiorina with that effort as well as the Compaq mess.

11. She was at least last week. I dont think that's the worst strategy. It's too bad she made so little
of it. She got the attention she wanted. She could have used that to make some solid policy proposals. What she did instead is attack Hillary with meaningless jibes, suggested the Chinese can't innovate when they are producing more intellectual property and patents per year than we are in the US and she suggested that to deal with ISIS we should arm the Kurds to the teeth, which sounds great, except that it would really upset Turkey, one of our most important allies in the region and a fellow NATO member.

18. Amazing that Ms. Fiorina now believes, "China can't Innovate"....
As she didn't think so, while CEO of HP:
"Moreover, Fiorina contends that over the entire course of her tenure at HP, the company created more jobs than it cut.
She explains this in an exchange with Chris Wallace in a Fox News interview on June 13, 2010. "But, Ms. Fiorina, if the issue is jobs, Senator Boxer says your record is what you did as the head of Hewlett-Packard, "Wallace said. "And the record shows, according to her -- and it's not just her, the facts are that during that time you laid off more than 30,000 American workers, and many of those jobs went to India and China." "It is true, I managed Hewlett-Packard through the worst technology recession in 25 years," Fiorina said. "And in those tough times, we had to make some tough calls. "It is also true that, net-net, we created jobs," she said. "We doubled the size of the company from $44 billion to $88 billion. We tripled the rate of innovation to 11 patents a day. We quintupled the cash flow. We improved the profitability in every product segment and ... "What about the 30,000 American jobs that...you laid off?" Wallace asked. "You know, every family and every business in California knows what it means to go through tough times," Fiorina said. "And every family is cutting back, and every business is laying off right now. I don't say that with delight. I say that with sorrow. But yes, it is true that jobs are being taken out of California. By the way, China fights harder for our jobs than we do. Texas fights for our jobs. Nevada fights for our jobs. North Carolina fights for our jobs. We have to start fighting for our jobs in this nation and in our state." Read More: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2010/sep/17/barbara-boxer/ad-sen-barbara-boxer-attacks-carly-fiorina-layoffs/ Let quote that line one more time: But yes, it is true that jobs are being taken out of California. By the way, China fights harder for our jobs than we do., says Carly Fiorina in 2010. So, we think she might want to stop talking out of both sides of her mouth -- as it's not a "Good Look" for a Job Outsourcer who now says she's again not Job Outsourcing. Just saying! 22. Fiorina sounds more like a heckler than really doing any kind of constructive criticism of Hillary
which she is unable to do of course. You look at her lack of success of running HP & the successes Hillary has had all the way from First Lady of Arkansas, Senator, & SecofState. A wealth of experience & success that she can't match & ends up looking silly & like nothing more than a heckler.

And the reason she didn't make more of the opportunity is because she doesn't have much of substance to say.

since you got to say so few words this time while they babbled on about a fringe candidate who has never really accomplished anything except to run a company into the ground and create unemployment.

25. In a nutshell
Fiorina's qualifications to be POTUS are:
A: currently running in a field of other nuts B: failed Senatorial campaign C: failed CEO of HP Well, yowza. That sure beats Hillary's qualifications, doesn't it? ![]() Good job, Steve. |

27. That really is it. The reason for her candidacy is totally mystifying to me
She has all the negatives of Romney in terms of not having the ability to appeal to the middle class and firing/laying off people but even worse than Romney she can't point to the ability to win any kind of campaign.
Then of course we have her basically wrecking HP by buying a company that had a lot of overhead and a product line with a very small profit margin, something any CEO should have been wary of doing. HP is still digging itself out of that mess with about $15 Billion in assets on its books from that transaction that are essentially worthless. I have no idea who thinks she ought to be running or why. |
