I am sorry that Sen. Franken's bill failed. I hope he reintroduces it when the dems recapture the Senate in 2016.

This is what we're up against--jerks who will screw over kids and women.

I'm always amazed how pompous, self-aggrandizing posts that waaah-waaah-waaah about some nitpicky thing a Democratic leader has done, not meeting the Impossibly High Standards of some well-fed pontificator, can rack up a few hundred recs, when something like this, that is POLITICAL, and MATTERS, will languish.

Oh well, there's still time for me to proven wrong....

Not so much as fighting for me as fighting against people who aren't me.

Yeah, I know, they can't go around killing everyone they want to -- yet. But short of that they can make life as miserable as possible, for as many as possible.

"Discrimination good! Bullying good! Breast surgery evil!"

What's wrong with these people? They're like barbarians from the dark ages. And I can't even get started on the brain dead people who vote for them.

They don't give a flying f*** about creating jobs unless they can siphon off a lot of the money to their contributors. They don't care about helping the economy one bit, in fact are actively trying to destroy it more every day. They hate women and children and workers, really they hate anyone who isn't part of the 1% and do their best to create conditions that are bad for the working class, bad for the country, but good for their own personal advancement. Kochs pay well.

... why my hatred of the Republican Party burns hotter than the surface of the Sun. Every fucking one of them is the embodiment of malice, mendacity, and unbridled greed. May the evil acolytes of Ayn Rand roast in Hell.

But I honestly would not mind in the least if we held a giant bonfire and ritualistically burned every copy of every Ayn Rand book, CD, movie and interview. Just light 'em all up!

HAS the Republicans party declared America its enemy? They continue to vote against anything for the people When will the voter wake up to the Terrorist Repubican Party. Many Republicans are saying they are not reading the Iran accords but just voting NO. They don't want Obama to succeed. It is amazing to the extent that the GOP will trash this nation.

... PATHOLOGICAL SELFISHNESS. You are absolutely right on all counts. Apart from the thinly veiled racism directed at Obama, they are loathe to do ANYTHING that helps ordinary Americans because it might be perceived as a Democratic success, and they simply cannot abide the thought of such a thing.

When I was young, Republicans were actually decent people, for the most part. A little too hard line for my taste on some issues, but you could reason with them. It's funny in a sad way that the "Talking Points," the planks of the 1956 Republican presidential campaign platform, read like a Liberal manifesto.

Then came a snake named Reagan, at whose behest the Fairness Doctrine was abolished, paving the way for Pox News to metastasize into the festering malignancy that it is today. Murdoch's Monstrosity made naked malice and bald-faced lies acceptable, thus unleashing the slavering horde of brain-dead lowlifes that think Bill O'Reilly is the Second Coming of Christ's evil twin, Skippy.
